The Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) has announced the appointment of Sophie Galaise as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Galaise was the Executive Director of the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, one of Canada’s leading orchestras. Her five year tenure saw the Orchestra re-establishing itself as a cultural institution of renown.  She takes up her new role this June.

‘I am thrilled to join QSO. I discovered an orchestra of the highest calibre led by Johannes Fritzsch, an excellent chief conductor, in a culturally vibrant and wonderful city. I feel excited and honoured to have been chosen to lead this fine organisation and I hope to contribute to its growth and continued success in years to come,’ said Galaise.
