Arts Minister Simon Crean this week released the report of the Review of Private Sector Support for the Arts, chaired by Mr Harold Mitchell AC.
The Review which was undertaken last April and delivered to the government in October was tasked with identifying opportunities to broaden and strengthen the base of giving to the arts in Australia. The Review was part of the government’s commitment to exploring ways to increase corporate and philanthropic support for artistic practice, recognising that donations and sponsorship provide a significant component of income for many arts organisations.
