Kylie’s dancers expected to work for free

Dancers shooting a video with Kylie Minogue in Melbourne today were told by a major US-label that there was no budget to pay them.

The Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance has stepped in to ensure the dancers receive at least minimum rates after ArtsHub raised the issue with Actors Equity Australia Director Sue McCreadie.

The case brings to a head exploitation of dancers, who report that they have worked for free on other major events including the Guy Sebastian Show and the Taylor Swift Tour.
