Papergirl Brisbane is a street art project that aims to connect Brisbane’s wider community with the work of local writers and artists.

Back in Brisbane for its second year in 2013, the event takes place over two days. The project uses art and writing that has been submitted to Papergirl, which will first be exhibited then rolled up and distributed by bicycle to passers-by. Papergirl is a global phenomenon, which was first founded in Berlin by artist Aisha Ronniger as a response to the prohibition of posting art in public space in 2005. The intention was to share art in public space, without targeting a specific community or demographic.
