As part of this year’s Helium season at the Malthouse Theatre in June, William Golding’s iconic story of civilisation and savagery will be brought to the boards with a cast of nine female actors.

The classic text depicts the catastrophic outcome of a group of school boys trying to govern themselves after becoming stranded on an uninhabited island, with the story traditionally interpreted as a conflict between the civilised and chaotic aspects of humanity.
