Mining groups BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto are teaming up with art groups groups to foster art in the Pilbara, Western Australia.

BHP will be financing Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and Rio Tinto will be continuing their partnership with Artsource.

The BHP/Spare Parts team-up will see the puppet troupe take a two-week tour through the Pilbara beginning 2 September. The tour will expose 1,000+ school children and teachers to the Fremantle-based group’s world class style of puppetry.
