Name them right now. Christine Turner, Dave Machen, Ann Grocott, Sam McKenna, Clinton Cross, Susan Hutton, Jenny Gilbertson, Brad Marsellos, Marlies Oakley, Jennifer McDuff and Dennis Mealor. That’s them. They’re the ones who have gone right out on a flimsy limb by naming their exhibition of sculpture, assemblage, photography, ceramics, painting and other mixed mediums Bundaberg Bohemians, Not Bogans. To make the point that there is more to Bundaberg than Bundy, these prolific regional artists have gone to the heart of city sophistication to open their exhibition at Bleeding Heart Gallery in Ann Street, Brisbane on Friday January 18. They’ve brought an extra case of Bundaberg with them too in the form of local band Tabletop Lamps who will fill the room with their tunes from 5.30pm.
