It’s the Commonwealth Games of the literary world and, like the sporting competition, Australians are making a strong showing in the shortlist for the 2013 Commonwealth Writers Prize.

Peering over the longlist you’ll notice a few authors and titles that’ve recently been recognised. Romy Ash’s debut Floundering has made the Commonwealth cut after making the Miles Franklin and Stella Prize longlists, while Dylan Coleman’s Mazin Grace, which was the 2011 winner of the David Unaipon Award for Indigenous Writing also appears.
