Arts Minister Tony Burke has announced the appointment of the members of the new Board of the Australia Council.
The appointments begin today, in line with the commencement of the Australia Council Act 2013, which passed last week.
The Act, which Burke describes as ‘the most significant change in the Council’s near 40 year history’, comes in response to the 2012 review of the Australia Council, enabling the Council to respond to the needs of a 21st century arts sector.
