Accompaning pianist hits all the right notes

Tully Brookes has won first place in the 2013 Geoffrey Parsons Award for collaborative pianists.

The competition was held by the Accompanists’ Guild of South Australia at the University of Adelaide’s Elder Conservatorium of Music. Finalists were judged on a piece of music of their own choice, including Brahms’ Cello Sonata No 1, Saint-Saëns’ Allegro appassinato, Carl Vine’s Sonata for Flute and Piano and lieder by Schubert and Wolf.
