Scottish words, Australian voices and a Queensland story

Queensland Theatre’s first post-pandemic play is a localised production of the electrifying Scottish drama, Mouthpiece.

Making theatre again after months of ‘busy emptiness’ has brought renewed purpose to Queensland Theatre and its staff, according to Artistic Director Lee Lewis.

‘We forget how much the story that we’re telling unites the company around a particular voice at one time. Because the company is speaking something to the state – to the nation if you like. Without the central story we’re telling, there have been some big questions asked about why we exist,’ she said.
