For Australian magician Dom Chambers, whose performances on shows like America’s Got Talent have racked up more than 100 million YouTube views, the social media age has been a boon for magic.

Tim Ellis, a performer of some 49 years’ experience and Festival Director of the Melbourne Magic Festival, believes that the popularity of magic is cyclical and currently on an upswing.
