5 photo exhibitions against the status quo

With PHOTO 2022 well underway, ArtsHub looks at the five exhibitions that are pushing boundaries and challenging the conventional lens.

Queering the Frame: Community, Time, Photography, CCP

Housed in the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP), Queering the Frame features artists Brook Andrew, J Davies, Helen Grace, Samuel Hodge, Shannon May Powell and The Huxleys in a well-rounded celebration of queer love and alternative stories.

Honouring the queer icons of art history in full force, photographic tributes by The Huxley’s showcase extravagant costumes inspired by names including Robert Mapplethorpe and Keith Haring, who fronted sexual liberation and the celebration of gay communities in their own ways.
