Near-parity is nearly something to celebrate

The 2016 Stella Count reports that women authors have achieved near-parity in the nation's reviews pages, closing an 8% gap within the five years of analysis.

The 2016 Stella Count, which evaluates gender bias in the field of book reviewing in Australia, reports that women authors have achieved near-parity against reviews by male authors. The Count surveyed 12 print and online publications, spanning national, metropolitan and regional newspapers, journals and magazines.
