Buzz builds as The Hive Collective ready their premiere season

Queensland’s new independent theatre company is staging three plays by Australian female playwrights at Metro Arts’ New Benner Theatre.

Working on the established principle of strength in numbers, three Brisbane theatre directors – Heather Fairbairn, Heidi Manché and Kate Wild – have joined forces to help address the impact of COVID-19 on Queensland’s arts landscape.

Operating under the name The Hive Collective, the trio are each experienced theatre artists. Their inaugural season – three works by contemporary Australian female playwrights – takes place at Metro Arts from 17 February – 27 March. Each play will be directed by one of The Hive Collective’s co-Artistic Directors and designed by a predominantly female creative team.
