Visitors to the 2019 Archibald Prize exhibition at TarraWarra Museum of Art have given the ANZ People’s Choice award to David Darcy’s portrait Tjuparntarri – women’s business, a painting of Daisy Tjuparntarri Ward a respected elder of the Warakurna community and Ngaanyatjarra people of Western Australia.
Congratulating the winner, TarraWarra Museum of Art Director Victoria Lynn said, ‘David Darcy’s striking portrait of Daisy Tjuparntarri Ward has clearly captivated visitors’ hearts at this year’s Archibald Prize exhibition at TarraWarra Museum of Art.
