Sector shock as regional arts body closes

Regional and remote artists and companies will suffer with the closure of an organisation which has supported them for over 70 years.

Tasmanian Regional Arts (TRA), a member of the Regional Arts Australia network which oversees the delivery of Federal funding to artists and organisations across the state, has announced its impending closure.

An unsuccessful Arts Tasmania application for $150,000 in core funding for the 2017 calendar year has been cited as the primary reason for TRA’s closure.
