New theatre for Brisbane not welcomed by all

A new 1500 seat theatre is to be built at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) but Aboriginal leaders say First Nations culture should be prioritised instead.

One of Australia’s busiest theatre complexes, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) will soon have a new venue, with the Palaszczuk Government this week announcing it would provide $150 million in the June state budget for construction of a 1500-1700 seat theatre.
