The four Indigenous art fairs are more important than galleries in providing sustenance to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art market.

Desert Mob in central Australia, the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF), the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF), and Revealed Emerging Aboriginal Artist Showcase in Perth are essential outlets for artists working in Aboriginal art centres. Eighty-two of eighty-seven art centres attend one or more, not only as a place to sell their work but also as an important cultural space.
