Geelong Gallery

Special Exhibitions Registrar

Are you our next Special Exhibitions Registrar?

Geelong Gallery is one of the most progressive and highly respected public galleries in Australia, in one of the country’s fastest growing cities, known for its great lifestyle and thriving arts and cultural sector.

Are you our next Special Exhibitions Registrar?

If so, you will bring a strong knowledge of the functions and roles of a major art museum, demonstrated experience in the handling, care and movement of artworks to museum standards, and sound knowledge of Australian and international registration practices and requirements.

Working within the Cultural Programming unit and reporting directly to the Assistant Director, Curatorial, the primary focus of the Special Exhibitions Registrar position is to manage the registration procedures and all logistical aspects related to incoming and outgoing works for exhibitions from national and international institutions and private collections. This includes coordinating the safe transport, receipt and handling of works of art for the Gallery’s dynamic exhibition program.

The Special Exhibitions Registrar role is a multitasking one, operating in a flexible and collaborative team environment. Geelong Gallery is committed to an inclusive and diverse organisational culture that ensures team members can thrive and that goals are realised.
