About the Opportunities
As we prepare to open the Glasshouse Theatre, we are seeking applications for talented professionals to join our Lighting Team:
- Senior Technician – Lighting – base salary from $62,816 per annum + super + leave loading
- Head Technician – Lighting – base salary from $72,128 per annum + super + leave loading

Senior Technician – Lighting
Working under limited supervision, you will provide hands-on professional, client-focused services to venue hirers and other QPAC Units.
About the Role:
- Lead small teams of Lighting technicians, working in multiple venues in a high-pressure hands-on environment.

Lead and participate in the set-up, pack down, operation and maintenance of stage lighting and electrical equipment within a live production environment to the highest standards.

Under limited supervision, set-up, operate and maintain control systems and data networks in a live production environment to the highest standards.

Setup and operate a lighting console such as ETC EOS or GrandMA series in basic performance conditions.
About You:

Demonstrated experience in high-pressure live production enviornments.
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Expertise in interpreting and delivering lighting designs and technical specifications.

Hands-on experience setting up, packing down, operating and maintaining stage lighting and production equipment, control systems and data works in live theatre settings.
Head Technician – Lighting
As the Head Technician, you will supervise and lead Lighting department functions to provide hands-on professional, client-focused services to venue hirers and other QPAC Units.
About the Role:

Lead and coordinate lighting requirements for performances, rehearsals, and events.

Supervise and mentor the lighting team, fostering skill development and strong teamwork.

Liaise with hirers, designers, and production staff to interpret and deliver creative visions.

Oversee maintenance, testing, and compliance of all lighting equipment and systems.

Manage schedules, budgets, and resources for lighting operations.
About You:
-
Extensive experience leading lighting teams in a live performance or theatre environment.

Strong knowledge of lighting control systems and data networks (GrandMA2/3, ETC EOS).
-
Current High Risk Work Licence – Basic Rigger and Working at Heights and EWP ticket (or ability to obtain).

Proven leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
