Programming Administrator

Gasworks has an exciting opportunity for an early-career arts graduate that is highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about performing arts.

ABOUT US

Gasworks is a home for creativity: a vital precinct where people gather for connection, belonging, and to experience the transformative power of art, nature, and culture. Located in Albert Park on the former South Melbourne Gas Plant site, Gasworks combines four hectares of parkland with three galleries, two theatres, artist studios, workshops, function spaces, and a café. Each year, over 100,000 community members engage with creativity through 200 performing arts events, 30 visual art exhibitions, 15 artist studios, 12 farmers’ markets, over 300 classes and workshops, professional development pathways, access to spaces, and family and school holiday programs.  Gasworks is distinct in its commitment to multiple art forms – visual art, theatre, comedy, circus, cabaret, dance, live music, and family programming. It is also distinct in its support for sector development, providing pathways from entry-level to professional practice.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for an enthusiastic early-career arts graduate to join the Gasworks team as our Programming Administrator on a temporary part-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about performing arts. In this role, you’ll coordinate and administer a diverse range of performing arts productions, including delivering our children’s holiday program and supporting events and activations as part of Melbourne’s major arts and cultural festivals.

We’re seeking someone with strong administrative and organisational skills, experience in event coordination or delivery, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy bringing creative programs to life, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a 6 month part-time position working three days per week with a pro-rata salary of $58,000.

Applicants should send a cover letter and a resume to [email protected] by close of business Tuesday 4th August 2026.
