OPPORTUNITY
The Producer, Performance supports the successful delivery of Carriageworks’ performance programs through effective project coordination, administration, and collaboration across internal teams and external partners. This role ensures the timely and high-quality presentation of performance works by managing budgets, schedules, and logistics while contributing to marketing, production planning, and audience experience. The Producer works closely with presenting partners, artists, and contractors to uphold Carriageworks’ artistic integrity and contractual obligations, playing a key role in the seamless delivery of performances from development to presentation..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DAY TO DAY
- As allocated by the Head of Programming, lead the project team at Carriageworks on smaller performances and support the Executive Producer on large-scale, complex performances.
- Provide administrative and project delivery support for delivering and presenting assigned Carriageworks’ performance programs.
- Collaborate with presenting partner companies to deliver performances of high artistic integrity successfully.
- Work collaboratively within the Programs team to collectively present the Carriageworks performance program.
- Support the development, tracking and reconciliation of budgets in collaboration with the Finance team and under the guidance of the Head of Programming.
- Manage the timely processing of contracts and invoices related to performance programming.
- Liaise with the Marketing team to support the development of campaign plans, collateral, and ticket pricing.
- Coordinate with the Production team to ensure timely delivery of project documentation, support rostering, and effective resource management.
- Monitor and support compliance with Carriageworks’ contractual obligations across all program activities.
- Maintain high administration standards, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and managing program files.
- Assist with artist liaison, including coordinating travel, accommodation, hospitality, riders and on-the-ground logistics.
- Implement and manage project schedules and logistics for specific events, including managing external contractors.
- Attend previews, opening nights, and functions, and be available for evening and weekend work as required to support program delivery.
PREFERRED CRITERIA
- Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of arts programs, events or performances in a producing, presenting or festival context.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records, schedules and documentation in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting budget tracking, invoice processing, and reconciliation in collaboration with finance teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently and professionally with artists, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as part of a team and to build effective working relationships across departments.
- Ability to anticipate issues, resolve problems efficiently, and adapt to changing project needs.
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and confidence working with project management tools and digital filing systems.
- Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in support of performance program delivery.
