Payments Officer

Melbourne Theatre Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payments Officer to join our Finance & IT team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their finance career, eager to gain hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll within a fast-paced and collaborative arts organisation. 

In this role, you’ll ensure the accurate processing of supplier payments, assist with payroll administration and processing, and contribute to the smooth financial operations that underpin Australia’s oldest professional theatre company. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, build working relationships with suppliers, and learn to navigate financial systems including TechnologyOne and ichris. 

About You: We’re looking for someone with strong attention to detail, solid numerical and computer skills, a willingness to learn, and a proactive, team-focused approach. Previous experience working in an office environment and/or exposure to Accounts Payable or Payroll systems is welcome, but not essential.
