Gallery Coordinator

We are seeking a passionate Gallery Coordinator for Spinifex Hill Gallery in South Hedland and support the work of diverse Aboriginal artists.
- Full Time, Fixed Term Role: 9 June – 3 October 2025 with the possibility of extension

Spinifex Hill Studio is located in South Hedland with a vision of creating a place where Aboriginal artists from across the region could come and paint and share community and culture. The painting practice of the Spinifex Hill Artists is as diverse as the many language groups the collective of over 100 artists represents.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gallery Coordinator. Working within a small friendly team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Spinifex Hill Studio (an Aboriginal art studio) and Spinifex Hill Gallery (an exhibition space and community programming facility).
Key responsibilities
- Cultivate positive customer experiences
- Supervise art gallery creative outputs and operations
- Assist with program development, events, sales and marketing
- Assist to develop a robust public programming plan that will engage the public and stakeholders
- Form relationships with schools, community groups, and Traditional Owner corporations and not for profits
Who we are looking for
We encourage applications from Aboriginal people. To deliver the objectives of this position, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in arts, arts management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of artwork and exhibition coordination
- Events management experience
- Awareness and understanding of cultural protocols and respectful behaviours
- Current, or ability to obtain, a Working with Children Check
- Current and unrestricted C Class Drivers licence
