The Opportunity

As an Events Officer you’ll report to the Coordinator Tourism & Events and play a key role in delivering Council’s exciting annual Events Program. Working closely with the Senior Events Officer, you’ll assist with event logistics, administration, and on-the-ground support to ensure each event runs smoothly and successfully. Your role will involve coordinating Council-led events, providing support to external event organisers, and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.

What you need to succeed (Essential Criteria):

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in event coordination or similar roles, with hands-on involvement in logistics and venue bookings.
  • Strong organisational skills – able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management systems – handling bookings, invoicing, and document management.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to collaborate effectively with teams and respond to community and stakeholder inquiries.
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) responsibilities in event management, or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and deliver exceptional customer service in fast-paced environments.
  • Flexible availability – willing to support events outside regular hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Practical experience in supporting indoor and outdoor events – including setup/pack-down and troubleshooting event infrastructure and AV systems.
  • Hold a Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (RSA)
  • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
