Short-Term Role with Big Impact: Event Manager Wanted

Artback NT is calling for an experienced and passionate Event Manager to help deliver the Yirriwinari Festival on the Tiwi Islands — a celebration of culture, creativity, and community, designed and led by Tiwi people.

In this unique short-term contract, you won’t just manage logistics — you’ll play a pivotal role in mentoring emerging Tiwi event professionals, embedding succession planning and skills development into every stage of the festival’s delivery. Your work will empower the next generation of local leaders to drive future festivals and community-led events.

You’ll be working side-by-side with Creative Producer Libby Collins — a nationally respected Tiwi storyteller and producer with a strong background in film, television, and community engagement. Together, you’ll design and deliver a culturally respectful and locally driven festival experience that celebrates Tiwi culture and supports local leadership.

In addition to the Tiwi Islands festival, you’ll lead the delivery of Artback NT’s 30th Anniversary event in Darwin this October, and may also support the Numburindi and Malandarri Festivals, pending scheduling.
