100 Story Building
Creative Programs Manager

We’re looking for a Creative Programs Manager to take the reins of our programming universe.
Do you believe storytelling can change the world? Can you wrangle a wild idea into a well-run program and inspire a team while doing it? If you’re a creative powerhouse with a strategic brain and a heart for community, we want you to be part of our story.
At 100 Story Building, we run programs that spark imaginations, empower young people, and champion equity through the art of storytelling. Now, we’re looking for a Creative Programs Manager to take the reins of our programming universe – designing, developing, and delivering inclusive and impactful creative experiences for children and young people.
THE ROLE
Working closely with the CEO and creative leadership team, you’ll lead the design, delivery, and strategic development of our creative programs, ensuring they are high-quality, inclusive, and aligned with 100 Story Building’s mission and strategic goals. The role is part of the leadership team and builds sector-leading partnerships and community connections, contributing to storytelling programs that empower children and young people, with a strong focus on social equity, measurable impact and sustainability.
Your Mission (should you choose to accept it):
- Lead the charge in designing and delivering creative programs that inspire and empower.
- Drive strategy and manage projects with precision and purpose.
- Champion co-design – working hand-in-hand with young people, schools, and partners to make magic.
- Dream up and pilot new initiatives that respond to community needs.
- Keep things inclusive, bold, culturally rich and a little bit adventurous.
- Lead a small but mighty team with empathy, creativity, and vision.
- Collaborate on grants, reports, and other fun paperwork that helps us keep doing what we do.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a passion for creative industries, social impact and youth empowerment.
The role is based at 100 Story Building HQ in Footscray, with offsite work when required.
At 100 Story Building, our shared values include diversity and inclusion and we strive to be a place where everyone can thrive. We are committed to creating a staff and Board community that reflects the wider community that we serve.
This role is ongoing with a salary of $85,000 plus superannuation.
WHO WE ARE
100 Story Building is a social enterprise and registered non-profit organisation. We work with children and young people to develop their creativity and literacy, confidence and sense of belonging that are fundamental to future success – through workshop programs, projects, online learning and community engagement.
Operating since 2012, 100 Story Building has delivered thousands of creative programs to more than 50,000 young participants, and gained extensive experience and an impressive track record developing creative spaces, programs and advisory services for children and young people.
Agency for children and young people is at the heart of all that we do at 100 Story Building.
We are dedicated to creating opportunities for children and young people to expand their imaginations, amplify their voices and become the hero of their own stories. We hold extensive experience in working with children and young people, in particular those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with a lived experience of socioeconomic disadvantage.
In our very tall (or very deep?) building in Footscray, young storytellers create and write their own stories inspired by the strange creatures and peculiar happenings on the 99 levels below the trapdoor. However, like the ever-expanding creative minds of young storytellers, we are not limited by the walls of the building. We travel to classrooms, libraries, community centres, festivals across Victoria – both online and in-person.
WHO YOU ARE
You’re perfect for this role if you:
- Have a strong background in creative program management and leadership.
- Are a confident project wrangler and budget tamer.
- Believe in the power of story to shift hearts, minds, and futures.
- Have a track record of working collaboratively and inclusively.
- Know your way around the arts, education and/or community sectors.
- Aren’t afraid to take creative risks – and encourage others to do the same.
Employment Requirements
- Working with Children Check (mandatory)
- National Police Check
- Full working rights in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or an unrestricted work visa)

Note: If you don’t meet all of the criteria, but believe you would be a valuable part of our team, we still encourage you to apply. Creative risk-taking and a growth mindset are things we encourage in young people… so you might want to give this a go too.
