Audience Engagement Representative

NGV is seeking casual Audience Engagement Representatives to support the delivery and administration of Audience Engagement and Learning programs.
VPS 2.1: $38.01 per hour + 12% superannuationClosing date for applications: 5pm on 03 November 2025
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking casual Audience Engagement Representatives to support the delivery and administration of Audience Engagement and Learning programs, projects and events whilst ensuring high quality customer service in line with the NGV Service Standards.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Audience Engagement Representative is responsible for assisting team members of the Audience Engagement and Learning department to provide end-to-end support for program and event delivery and administration. Other key responsibilities include:
- Providing a high level of customer service and communication, and a welcoming and engaging environment during and after programs and events in a respectful manner
- Providing communication support to key stakeholders, including artists, performers, program speakers and facilitators, audiences and NGV staff and teams
- Building and maintaining consistent and appropriate dialogue between managers and colleagues regarding issues or feedback arising from programs and events.
To be successful, you will be committed to delivering quality public programs and customer service and actively seeking to meet the needs of the audience, and ways to improve service. You will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain information; listen to feedback and have confidence in public speaking. You will have the proven ability to prepare letters, documents and emails using clear and grammatically correct language. You will be able to organize information in a clear and logical manner, regularly plan and track progress on work tasks and take an organized and methodical approach to work, addressing priority tasks first. You seek information needed to solve problems, identifying and proposing practical solutions.
You will have previous experience in working in an administrative or customer service role in a busy environment. General knowledge of the history of visual arts and an understanding of the operations of a visual arts institution or related environment would be an advantage.
