APS6 Tourism Partnerships Coordinator

The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the team as an APS6 Tourism Partnerships Coordinator
The Tourism Partnerships team works to further the Museum’s share of the domestic and international tourism market by developing new engagement strategies, markets, products and services. The team is also responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with relevant industry sectors in the ACT, Australia and overseas.
Along with the Head of Commercial and Business Development Manager, the Tourism Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for delivering and driving the Museum’s tourism and corporate partnership strategy and objectives across the broad and established network of tourism and commercial partners, as well as engaging with and extending this network. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across Museum business units in designing and delivering tourism and events products that provide both excellent visitor experience and commercial benefit to the Museum’s financial deliverables.
Key accountabilities
- Coordinate the requirements for the Tourism Partnerships team, supporting delivery of tourism projects, product development and corporate partnerships.
- Assist Business Development Manager in monitoring budgets, procurement activities, risk registers and contract administration, ensuring compliance with public sector and Museum frameworks.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality project documentation, including meeting notes, schedules, procurement records and progress reports.
- Work collaboratively across teams and with external partners – such as corporate partners and tourism industry partners – to innovate and deliver tourism initiatives that drive visitation from interstate and international markets, increase revenue and raise the profile of the NMA.
- Coordinate all NMA tourism events, including industry familiarisations, trade shows and industry briefings, ensuring these are effectively project managed and reported to the Business Development Manager.
- Coordinate all NMA tourism products including wholesale ticketing for tourism partners, Virtual Reality products, customer data in Tessitura and ensuring effective workflow and stakeholder engagement within the Commercial BU and across the NMA teams.
- Coordinate all submissions to relevant tourism awards and accreditation programs.
- Support the Business Development Manager and Head of Commercial with all corporate partnership proposals, pipeline management and reporting in Tessitura.
- Undertake project research and benchmarking, contribute to evaluation processes, and support innovation and continuous improvement across the BU’s operations.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold strong administrative, procurement and documentation practices aligned with government and Museum requirements.
- Represent the NMA at key industry events.
- Manage the APS4 Tourism Officer and work closely with the APS6 Venue Services Coordinator to ensure excellent communication and workflow for partnership opportunities.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WH&S) by actively supporting a positive safety culture, following the Museum’s WHS policies and procedures, and complying with reasonable instructions to ensure alignment with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
