Something strange is happening in Footscray. Quiet rumours, late-night sightings, footprints that don’t quite match anything in the books. We need journalists.
Second Edition is a one-day workshop for teenagers who keep to themselves and notice things: the quiet observers, the late-night readers, the ones with know-how and a soft spot for the unexplained. Together, we’ll piece together a real newspaper documenting the mysterious creatures said to roam Footscray’s backstreets, train lines, and creek beds.
Over the day you’ll investigate, write, sketch, paint, and cut-and-paste collaged “evidence” into something part zine, part field journal, part tabloid conspiracy paper. You’ll work alongside other contributors rather than on top of them: collaboration without the small talk, with space to think and disappear into your piece. No experience needed. Just curiosity, a bit of courage, and a hunch that there’s more to Footscray than meets the eye.
