Platform Arts invites artists or collectives from across Western Regional Victoria to join our open Pecha Kucha nights. These are designed as conversation starters, giving artists a chance to share their practice and connect with the broader art community.
These Pecha Kucha nights support our curatorially fluid and artist-led approach to engaging local arts practitioners. They facilitate a reciprocal benefit, empowering collaboration and community, enabling us to meet local artists and envisage potential collaborations and programming opportunities in real time.
They also provide an opportunity for artists to practice radical hospitality by creating a shared meal. It is requested that attendees bring a share-plate of nibbles to contribute to the meal. Whether you’re presenting a slide show or not, we welcome you to come and enjoy this aspect, which provides a delectable framework for the across-table conversations on artistic life and practice.
There will be a sign-up sheet on the night. Please ensure your slides are saved as a pdf, for compatibility.
Attendance is free, with food contributed by the attendees. Hosted by our Artistic Director, Amber Smith, the sessions are held every quarter, in line with our seasons.
