Vale: Nigel Lendon

The Visual Arts says goodbye to a great thinker and advocate; an artist who impacted a generation of sculptors.

This week the visual arts sector lost a giant – a rigorous thinker and astute conceptual artist who was formative in shaping the landscape of abstraction in Australia.

Adelaide-born Nigel Lendon (1944-2021) passed away (24 October) after a year-long battle with brain cancer. He was celebrated as an art historian and curator, an educator and an artist in his own right.
