Homeschooling: How artists find balance

Artists Marikit Santiago, Zoe Young, Lottie Consalvo and James Drinkwater share how they learnt to navigate homeschooling alongside their practice.

For many, it’s homeschooling take two – hopefully the initial frantic scramble has settled into a calmer rhythm of storytelling, baking cookies and picnic in the garden … or is that just an imagined utopia?

Nevertheless, homeschooling is the current reality and artists, often with a non-prescriptive education themselves, highlight ways in which they have learned to adapt and nurture two different creations in parallel: their kids and their artworks.
