The Sydney College of the Arts (SCA), part of the University of Sydney, has announced a moratorium on new students in 2017 for their Bachelor of Visual Art degree.

The news follows a tumultuous month, in which the University of Sydney and UNSW Art and Design School in Paddington announced, and then retracted, a plan to merge to create a super-school of visual arts excellence.
