Are you looking for a unique platform to project your work as part of our Public Art Program at City Hall?
The City of Greater Geelong will present a Christmas projection program this year from 21 November through to 10 January, 2027 and is seeking interest from qualified creatives to bring City Hall to life with distinct and imaginative character enhancing events for both locals and visitors to our region.
It is a $20,000 commission.
The City Hall program aims to:
- Present work with a high level of artistic integrity, featuring high quality creative contemporary art with a strong visual narrative, led by professional artists working in large format architectural projections.
- Present commissioned works which demonstrate a strong artistic vision and a clear narrative and must be suitable for large format architectural projection.
- Add vibrancy to the city’s nightlife over the festive season utilising colour, shapes and movement.
- Present commissioned work which celebrates and reflects the diversity and cultural heritage of Geelong’s community.
- Commit to leading and facilitating the creation of public art programs that are accessible and engaging for a large and varied audience.
- Build and expand audience confidence and connection with public art experiences.
EOI Submissions must include:
- A short biography demonstrating relevant experience and capacity to deliver the commission, maximum one A4 pages.
- Current CV (2 page maximum)
- Up to five examples of previous artwork, design or projection practice, provided as images and/or webpage links.
- Confirmation of your ability to meet project timelines.
Timelines:
- EOI released: Tuesday 22 September
- EOI Closes: Friday 9 October
- Shortlisted artist notified: Wednesday 14 October
- Shortlisted concepts delivered: Wednesday 28 October
- Artist awarded: Friday 30 October
- Design Development approved: Monday 16 November
- Installation w/c: Testing 16 Monday November – Saturday 21 November
- Season: 21 Saturday November – Sunday 10 Jan, 2027
