Hume City Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from professional organisations and companies to present existing light-based installations and artworks at Hume Winter Lights Festival.
We are seeking high-quality, ready-made works that:
- Are visually engaging and suitable for outdoor night-time presentation
- Works may be installation, pyro/fire-based, sculptural, immersive, light and sound based
- Have a proven track record in public or festival contexts
- Can be delivered efficiently with clear technical and operational requirements
- Installations should be suitable for short-duration presentation (1–2 nights).
- Submissions from experienced providers with touring works are strongly encouraged.
Hume is not seeking new commissions through this process. This opportunity is focused on the presentation of existing, fully realised works.
Hume Winter Lights Festival 2027
- Date: Saturday 19 June 2027, 6pm – 10pm.
- Location: Town Hall Broadmeadows and outdoor precinct.
- Expected Attendence: up to 5,000
About: The Hume Winter Lights Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration that brings people together through light, art and culture. Transforming Broadmeadows into an immersive winter experience, the festival aims to foster community connection, celebrate cultural diversity, support creative expression and showcase Broadmeadows as a vibrant destination. Through illuminated artworks, performances, interactive experiences, performances and food, the festival creates welcoming opportunities for people to connect, explore and experience the city in a new light.
Applications close: 27 September 2026
Proposals should include clear information on:
- Touring requirements (crew, logistics, freight)
- Installation and technical needs
- Presentation options (1-day vs 2-day delivery)
- Full costings

- Major Events Sponsorship – opportunities for businesses and organisations to partner with Hume’s major community events, build brand visibility and connect with thousands of residents and visitors.
- Event Program EOIs – for performers, artists, choirs, bands, roving performers, street theatre, hosts/MCs, community and cultural groups, workshop providers and activation providers.
- Food Vendor and Stallholder EOIs – for food and drink vendors, market stallholders, Christmas-themed stallholders, service providers and local businesses seeking to participate in major events.
The 2026/27 major events season includes:
- Carols by Candlelight Craigieburn – Saturday 5 December 2026
- Carols by Candlelight Westmeadows – Friday 18 December 2026
- Craigieburn Festival – Saturday 13 March 2027
- Hume Winter Lights Festival – Saturday 19 June 2027
These events attract thousands of attendees and provide valuable opportunities for creative organisations, performers, local businesses, community groups, sponsors, vendors and stallholders to showcase their work, connect with diverse audiences and contribute to vibrant community celebrations across Hume.
