Mount Barker District Council Arts Grants

The Mount Barker District Council’s Arts Grants are open for applications 24 August 2026 – 4 October 2026.

Professional artists and arts organisations can apply for grants of up to $5,000 to create, produce and show new projects or new stages of projects. 

The Arts Grants are designed to support works of high artistic merit with professional artist involvement throughout the creative process and outcome of the project.  

Projects must have a clear link to the Mount Barker district in South Australia and be able to be engaged with by members of the public. 

Eligible projects include:

  • new creative works or stages of work based in the district.
  • new creative works or stages of work created by a resident artist or arts organisation of the district, with a public outcome outside of the district, where:
    • Where the arts outcome raises the profile of the District and/or the District’s 
      arts ecology at a state or national level, and/or
    • Where the arts outcome cannot occur in the District due to a lack of 
      availability of venues or infrastructure e.g. theatres, galleries, etc.  

Applicants must have:

  • an active ABN.
  • Current public liability insurance or willingness to take it out if successful.
  • Letters of confirmation from project partners.

Key Dates:

Grant application window: Monday 24 August – midnight Sunday 4 October 2026
Information Session: Thursday 3 September, 6pm – 7:30pm (online option)
Assessment: November 2026
Awarding: December 2026
Projects can commence: January 2027
