The 59th Annual AWGIE Awards are open for entries!
The AWGIE Awards are unique in the industry in that they are the only writers’ awards judged solely by writers, and the judging is based on the written script – the writer’s intention rather than the finished product.
Entries are open for eligible screen, stage, interactive and audio works that finished principal photography or production or had a first performance between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025 (please check individual categories for specific eligibility criteria).
The 59th Annual AWGIE Awards will close at 5pm (AEST) on Thursday 17 September 2026.
Eligible categories include:
- Animation
- Audio – Fiction, Non-fiction
- Children’s Television – Children’s, Preschool
- Comedy – Situation or Narrative, Sketch or Light Entertainment, Stand-Up
- Documentary – Public Broadcast, Community Education and Training
- Feature Film – Adapted, Original
- Interacive Media and Gaming
- Music Theatre
- Short Film
- Stage – Adapted, Original, Community Theatre, Theatre for Young Audience
- Television Drama – Limited Series or Telemovie, Serial, Series
- Web Series
