The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe announced winners of the 10th National Merit Awards at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare earlier this week.

Fast-rising gospel star Blessing Shumba, gospel chart-topper Pastor Charles Charamba, musician and former airforce member Suluman Chimbetu, reggae-dancehall artist Winky D and renowned novelist Shimmer Chinodya were all recognised for their outstanding achievements in the arts.
