The Thorn Birds goes under the hammer

Sotheby’s Australia has announced that a collection of treasures from the estate of Colleen McCullough will go to auction later this month.

Sotheby’s Australia will offer a collection of rare items for sale, including McCullough’s personal manuscript of The Thorn Birds (1977), the bestselling Australian novel of all time.

The manuscript of The Thorn Birds, complete with her handwritten notes and amendments, is estimated to raise up to $30,000. The original typescript of her first novel, Tim (1974) will also go under the hammer and is expected to raise between $5000-6000.
