The future of arts funding beyond government assistance

Having a multifaceted approach to arts funding will ensure its sustainability in the future, according to panellists at the recent Future of Funding Panel at Visions 2020.

Typically when many of us think of arts funding, we think of a government model of grants and the laborious application process which ensues. 

In The Future of Funding, a recent panel as part of the Visions 2020 Conference, Jackie Bailey, arts advocate Dr Terry Wu and Executive Director of The Chamber of Arts and Culture Western Australia Shelagh Magadza, discussed alternative ways to grow the arts sector beyond the typical government funding model, suggesting that it’s up to the industry to play more of a part.
