Ten Days on the Island announces new Artistic Director

The biennial festival has been without dedicated artistic direction since the sudden departure of its previous AD in May.

David Malacari was today announced as the new Artistic Director of Ten Days on the Island.

Previously the Artistic Director of the Parramatta-based cultural festival Parramasala, Malacari has also worked as the Artistic Director of Auckland Arts Festival, directed festivals of Australian arts in London and India, and was Executive Producer of Perth’s Commonwealth Festival. He has also held senior programming roles at the Adelaide Festival Centre and the Adelaide Festival of Arts.

Richard Watts is ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor; he also presents the weekly program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM, and serves as the Chair of La Mama Theatre's volunteer Committee of Management.
