Presented by Theatre Works in conjunction with Melbourne Festival, the inaugural Australian Directors Lab will run for nine days this year’s ​October.

The intensive program of masterclasses, conversations, investigations and creative explorations – inspired by a similar program at the Lincoln Centre in New York City – fills a notable gap in the local theatrical landscape, said Theatre Works CEO and Creative Producer, Daniel Clarke.

Richard Watts is ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor; he also presents the weekly program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM, and serves as the Chair of La Mama Theatre's volunteer Committee of Management. Richard is a life member of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, and was awarded the status of Melbourne Fringe Living Legend in 2017.
