After consistently rejecting calls for her resignation, Queensland Arts and IT Minister Ros Bates has stepped down, citing health reasons.
According to the Brisbane Times, only last month, Bates told reporters she was ‘not going anywhere’.
Premier Campbell Newman is reported to have accepted the embattled former minister’s resignation with regret.
