Charles Blackman’s oil Barbara at the Table (1956) estimated at $80,000 – 100,000

The auction is spearheaded by the sale of Brisbane couple, Robert and Karen Hayward’s collection, nineteen contemporary works ranging from Robert Hunter to Jon Cattapan to Vernon Ah Kee. Cameron Menzies, Head of Art Southern Region, said their decision to part with key works was ‘in order to focus on the acquisition and promotion of emerging International artists.’
