The City of Melbourne’s draft budget for 2013-2014 includes an extra $1.2 million for the arts.
The draft budget, to be delivered by Council this evening, includes a total arts budget of $14 million, up from $12.8 million in 2012-2013.
‘We’ve decided that we need to capitalise on the great work that we’ve done in previous years and keep growing the Arts and Culture programs, so we’re seeing an increase from last year in the Arts and Culture branch of more than a million dollars, which we’re very proud of,’ said Arts and Culture Portfolio Chair, Councillor Rohan Leppert.
