Indigenous artists take on London’s Royal Academy

The Australia Council for the Arts has announced it will fund Judy Watson and London-based Christian Thompson to create new works for the Royal Academy of Arts on the occasion of its blockbuster exhibition Australia.

Indigenous artist Watson (QLD) has been commissioned by the Royal Academy to re-create her powerful outdoor piece fire and water (2007), the signature work of Canberra’s Reconciliation Place.
