Iconic Australian painter Robert Dickerson, or Bob as he preferred to be known, has died at 91 after a battle with cancer.

Arguably one of Australia’s most collected artists – and a perennial favourite on the auction circuit – Dickerson was known for his elongated and angular portraits often depicted with haunting blackened eyes, their simplicity and settings offering a distinctive visual language.
