The World Trade Organisation has ruled in favour of Antigua and Barbuda, two tiny islands in the West Indies, allowing them to sell US copyrighted media downloads without paying a penny to the rightful copyright owners.

The decision comes after a long-standing battle between Antigua and the US, which began in the 1990s after Antigua opened a number of online casinos. When the US tried to crack down on the casinos, Antigua took its case to the World Trade Organisation, complaining that the US was unfairly protecting its domestic casinos in violation of free trade rules.
